Karma Yoga Thesis

This study investigates how Henry David Thoreau became America’s first karma yogi, not only evidenced through his published works, Walden and A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers, but also through his private journals and correspondence.

By focusing on these more intimate writings, the result is a fascinating exploration into the intellectual origins of yoga in the United States, the importance of ritualistic action, and an authentic manifestation of karma yoga, which Shri strives to embody every day.
