Officials Celebrate Former Conant Thread Mill as New Mixed-Use Site
PAWTUCKET – There’s a new jewel in the city, and it comes in the form of a 140-year-old-plus mill building that has been remodeled into a beautiful center for residents to “live, work and play.”
Pine Street Complex New Home To Shri Yoga, Affordable Housing
PAWTUCKET – It’s an exciting time for Shri Yoga Studio in Pawtucket, which has moved to its new location at 390 Pine St. The property of 15,000 square feet has undergone some substantial changes since it was purchased by Shri founder and owner Alison Bologna in 2020 from Dave and Diane Sheilby at Tallman Enterprises/Stretch Products.
Shri Development Revitalizes The Commuter Rail Neighborhood
It started in 2010 when Alison Bologna, a Pawtucket resident and local news anchor at NBC 10, decided to open a yoga studio in one of our empty downtown storefronts. She named it “Shri Studio” with the intention of bringing light (the definition of “Shri” in Sanskrit) into the district by offering low cost and free yoga outreach classes to students who otherwise wouldn’t have access.
Grant Funds Fill Hole As Shri Studio Expansion Continues
PAWTUCKET – By this time next year, the new space for Alison Bologna’s Shri Studio should be fully ready to go, aided by a $100,000 grant from The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation to support build-out of the facility at 390 Pine St. near the city’s future new train station. The $100,000 grant is among 37 grants that Centreville Bank awarded as part of its fourth-quarter 2021 round of grants. The money will go toward the affordable housing and community hub space being developed at 390 Pine St.
Train Station Project Moving Along; Shri Project Commencing
PAWTUCKET – Four Pawtucket projects have started, progressed, or been completed within the Conant Thread District around the coming Pawtucket/Central Falls Commuter Rail Station since the district was established in May of 2019.
Threading The Needle
PAWTUCKET — Imagine a future where Pawtucket is a bustling urban center; where dining, shopping, entertainment and recreation entertainment opportunities abound; where residents commute to good-paying jobs in Boston or Providence — or even walk to those jobs in their Pawtucket neighborhood.
